Woolston Ferry never got involved yesterday and could only manage 12th of 14 runners. Very disappointing but as always we swiftly move on and look to make amends by shooting straight back up north for the opener at Ayr which is due to be run at 2.10.
John Quinn is our man today and he travels just over 240 miles to saddle two runners hoping he can maintain his 19% strike rate for a level stakes profit of £18.75p. Incidentally his yard is in blistering form at the moment with a 35% strike rate for a level stakes profit of £63.75p from the last 14 days so he’s certainly one to be siding with at the moment. Of the two runners he takes to Ayr today we’ll be looking at Strictly Glitz.
Strictly Glitz comes here from a third last time out at Thirsk and didn’t seem to impress however that was on soft ground and I think she’ll perform much better on the good ground predicted at Ayr for today. She’ll be racing off the same mark as last time and today we see her racing in a class 6 so it’s likely she will show improvement in this company. I’ve got her down as a 7/2 shot so I’ll be taking the 6/1 with Bet365 for the win only.
